frogger in regina

This is my blog from 2001 when I was living in Regina, Saskatchewan. When I landed, I had no job, little money and instant bills to pay. Much hilarity ensues...

Wednesday, August 15

hello.
look for new features and styles with
the upcoming frogger vers. 2.0
I now am hooked up at home.
As the telephone tech Vincent
said to me: "welcome to the information
highway, your world has now gotten
a lot smaller!"
So it be, dude. So it be.

Crystals
Thanks to Krystal Kups for all your help
and advice.
Thanks to Crystal S. for all your help
and advice.
Thanks to Chrystal for posting that funny ad
and not hiring me.

I now work in an office where I am constantly
watched.
All the computers have an Elvis screensaver.
There are tons of Dilbert cartoons.
There are cubicles.
There are caffeine joke comic strips.
There lots and lots of Advice photocopied and
taped onto the walls to promote "productivity".
I am still looking for those "Hang in there, Baby!"
posters with the cat hanging on a branch.
Welcome to the world of temping, frogger!

Come pay day, I will be hanging at the best
bars in Regina in order to give you, gentle reader,
the most up to the minute reports on the
nightlife here.

Until then, adieu.

Favourite phrase of the day:
"it's all about the music"

Monday, August 13

Just came back from Saskatoon.
Where the cultural happening there
was the Fringe Festival.
Yes, they have one, Regina doesn't.
It was quite happening.
They closed off a section of a street
(Saskatoon's Soho) and had vendors,
street performers and face painters.
It was all very quaint. A nice small-town
style festival.
They had FIMOMan! Some ex-hippy
who made pins out of FIMO.
Talented dude, too bad all his characters
will infringe on the trademarks of certain
characters belonging to Disney, Fox, Time-
Warner, etc.
Keep dreaming pal!
They also had some guy covered in silver
paint doing some sort of mime-show for
kids.
Dear sir:
You are not fooling us!
You are not a robot!
Kids are not that stupid.
If I cut you, you will bleed.

Everytime I come back from
Saskatoon to Regina, I get
depressed.

Observation:
There are more hippies in Saskatoon
than Regina.
There seem to be more Aryans in
Saskatoon than Regina.

I'm getting 'net access at home soon.
See ya there!

Favourite phrase / commandment of the day:

"Garbage men should be given speed and/
or amphetemines so they can pick up garbage
faster!"
