frogger in regina

This is my blog from 2001 when I was living in Regina, Saskatchewan. When I landed, I had no job, little money and instant bills to pay. Much hilarity ensues...

Sunday, July 22

I'm still in Regina.
On Friday, the leaderpost
(the local, only rag in this town)
headlined that Regina is the
crime capital of Canada.
They're talking about violent and
property crime!
Guess my friends were right.
On that day, my bike got stolen!
It was locked outside our apartment
to a parking post with a heavy wire and
padlock ( I couldn't afford a u-lock).
It was a shitty bike that barely worked.
An old girls' touring bike that was blue
and said supercycle (Canadian Tire) and
I'd bought it from Value Village for $8.
The lock cost more than that.

The next day, I was checking the alley
beside our building looking for any signs
and this tatooed dumb jock came up to
me and offered to sell me the bike he was
on!
Talk about fucked up!

On Saturday, the Globe featured a story
about the obese in Canada. Number one
was St.Catherines, Ontario. Not very
surprising.
Number two was...you guessed it:REGINA.
On that day I saw this really obese guy sitting
at a local coffeeshope sipping coffee with
big, dark, Terminator-style sunglasses on.

Everything they say in the paper is true!!!!!
